She has a gun!

She has a gun, a bubble gun, and she isn't afraid to use it!

Pop! She got you :o)

Baby Butts

I love little baby butts - who doesn't? Well maybe not when they have a stinky diaper I guess, but they are so cute :o)  I took a picture of Summer when she was 7+ months of her naked butt and it was one of my favorite photos so I figured I would do it again with Pepper.  Uh, I can't believe how hard it was to get a shot of Pepper, that child would not quit moving, constantly trying to spin and get my feet.  It was funny but cute, and I think I got a photo that is similar to her sister.  What do you think, can you tell them apart?

My Little Artist

This week we ended up creating two art projects, one at the library and one at an art class.  The library project was all about constellations.  The kids were given black paper, a white crayon, and several silver starts and were told to create their own constellation.  This is what Summer created for me.

Not exactly a constellation, or anything like one, but at least she drew a picture of me and her, and told me she loves me, and I have two stars on my head!  I don't know why she started recently making her "s" backwards but oh well, she will turn them back eventually.

In the art class today we learned about a famous artist by the name of Keith Haring, and we recreated something like he would make.  I was actually quite impressed by how well Summer stayed in the lines.  We traced the outline people with pencil, then darkened the outline with black paint, then colored the people in and painted the sky and ground.  That little red blob on the side is the outline of a baby crawling, just incase you couldn't see it :o)  Oh - and I have the picture upside down - the sky is the blue part.

Swimmer

Since the summer started we have been in a pool a lot.  Actually I lie, I haven't been in the pool a lot, Summer has been in a pool a lot.  During our California vacation the girls swam for 4 hours one morning and 2 hours one evening in the hotel pool.  It was just what Summer needed to get over some fears, she was jumping in the pool and going under the water while wearing goggles, diving down to the bottom of the shallow end and retrieving quarters and pennies. As soon as we got back from vacation I wanted to get her back in the pool right away, to keep what she had just learned and guess what, it worked.  We got back from vacation on Friday and on Monday we went over a friends house and Summer learned to swim.

It isn't the best swim you have ever seen, and she has a long way to go before she wins any swim competitions but I (and all of us) are so proud of her!  She is almost 5 and now she can swim.

Pepper has been in the pool too, she likes the water I guess, she tolerates it without me being in there.  She is such a little stinker!

See Pepper's hat - yes that is actually her shorts.  I didn't want her to go hatless and figured her shorts worked good enough, of course we had to keep adjusting the leg hole areas :o)

Vacation

We did the vacation thing.  5 days, 4 nights, it was fun mostly :o) but we were glad to get home.  Here are a few photos from our trip to Huntington Beach, Disneyland, California Adventure and the mall, well maybe I didn't take any pictures of the mall ...

Me

I got my hair cut last week, about a few inches - ok so I am bad with measurements :o) I needed to lose the ends, they were just dull, and I really like shorter hair, I never regret cuts.  I keep thinking about coloring it, if only there wasn't so much upkeep.  Since I cut my hair I have felt so much better, lighter, and decided to do a self portrait photo shoot.  I realize that you really can't see my hair, you can mostly just see my eye(s), oh well I like that part of me I guess and its earlier to get a pretty eye picture than an entire face or body picture.  No I don't wear contacts, those are my real eyes, the real blue color, enhanced of course, and yes I have a big nose, not sure when that happened.  I have big ears too, at least I did, but you can't see them behind all that hair so I am not sure if they are smaller now.  I am not perfect, I don't pretend to be, I just make do with what I have and try to like everything I can about me, big parts and all.

Hello Kitty

Does your child love certain characters - or is she like my child and loves them all?  Here are a few pictures or Summer modeling a cute little Hello Kitty outfit.  It didn't take much bragging either!

Besides Hello Kitty she likes LaLaLoopsies, Princesses, Barbie, Strawberry Shortcake, Dora, Doc McStuffins, Jake and the Neverland Pirates, The Cat and the Hat, Curious George, Sesame Street, Cars ... well pretty much everything :o)

Necklace Model

I signed both of the girls up to do some boutique modeling.  Pepper hasn't complained about it yet but Summer really hates taking pictures, can you imagine that?  It sucks, I love taking pictures and she hates having her pictures taken. Figures huh.  I am still going to take pictures of her but just not as many, luckily Pepper isn't old enough to say no yet :o)  Here are a few pictures of Summer modeling a chunky necklace for Bella Bows, maybe you can find her picture there :o)

7 Months Old

We celebrated 7 months today!!!  19.5 pounds, just up 1/2 pound from a month ago, and still 28 inches long - perfect!  Finally sleeping all night in her own crib, taking less naps, eating everything I or she puts in her mouth, starting to get up on her hands/knees, scooting around the house in her walker, reaches to be held/picked up, and saying a few sounds like da, ma, ba ... maybe anyway ;o)
