Colorizing the Girls

If you know anything about me then you know how much I love color, colorful things, and mostly color explosions!  I took some old decorations and made a cute colorful background to go with the girls braided hair photos today :o)

I didn't get a good picture of both girls together, thanks to Pepper.  That child will not 1) smile or 2) look at the camera :o( so we will be working on it more - or hopefully she learns to at least LOOK at the camera, we can work on smiling later!

We are also in the process of potty training this week.  I have no idea why, or what prompted me except the really cute training underwear I bought at Target last week and decided to wash /sigh.  We started yesterday and after about an hour we had two accidents and I was done.  Then Pepper went swimming and said she had to go pee, got out of the pool, dried off, and sure enough she went pee in the toilet so we continued training without any accidents the rest of the nights.  She woke up (in a diaper) dry, then peed on the toilet, pooped on the toilet, peed several more times on the toilet and didn't have an accident until around 12:30.  I was thinking again of quitting but darn if she didn't tell me she had to go pee after that (while wearing a diaper) and sure enough went on the toilet.  I guess we will continue training, I need to stop thinking she isn't ready and wanting to quit so easily.  I will keep you posted.

Back to Floyd Lamb

We went back to Floyd Lamb today with a few friends.  It is still cooler than normal and around 9:00 am the weather is nice enough to venture outside, if you don't mind the almost 50% humidity that we are not at all use to having.  Enjoy the so very green photos!

Floyd Lamb Park

Kris woke up today and said, HEY, it is overcast, and a bit cooler than normal, and suppose to rain this afternoon, lets go get breakfast at McDonald's and head to Floyd Lamb for some pictures.  I said YES, that sounds like a good plan to me, and so that is exactly what we did :o)

Mountain Fire Light

A few photos outside one evening while the light was odd because of that mountain that was (and I guess still is a little) on fire.

And yes it was a little windy and ashy :o(

Camping on Mount Charleston

If you have ever gone camping then you know how much work it is.  Packing, unpacking, organizing, etc.  Two friends and I decided to go "day" camping with the kids, we headed to the mountains and camped for the day.  We brought a lot of food and everything you normally take on a camping trip.  We even set up the tent.  It was a warm day but not too hot, we built a fire, cooked hotdogs and roasted marshmallows.  We played cards and the kids got dirty.  It was a lot of fun and we want to do it again soon, unfortunately the mountains closest to us are on fire thanks to a lightening strike :o( so I am not sure when we will be able to go again.  Here are a few pictures I took on our trip.
