Dog and Ice Pop

We had a fun day today - the most exciting part maybe was that we are babysitting a dog for a friend.  His name is Harry or Wendell or Relish or maybe just Dog, or Here Boy.  Anyway he is a really good dog and he will be spending two nights with us.

As you can see Charming was quite interested in this whole situation and had to keep a close eye on things.

Pepper has been enjoying the attention and loves the fact that he brings back toys and doesn't run from her.

The cat still isn't sure.

So then I took the girls out back after dinner and gave them a cold pop ice thing.  They enjoyed it.

Underwater Swimming

It has finally started warming up so much that the pool is getting up to 90 and we have been taking advantage of the nice weather!  Kris recently bought a gopro  and it takes amazing photos and videos - and it has a nice case so it can be used underwater!

Mexican Lasagna

My aunt Wendy called one day and told me about this really delicious dish her husband made and I had to make it.  I made it for a group of friends the next day and we all loved it.  I tried looking on the internet to find it or something like it so I could "pin" it so I would not lose it but I could not find anything as close to this recipe so I figured I better blog it and save it so I will always have it.

Ingredients:
onion
green pepper
chicken (cooked)*
1 can of rotel
1 can of cream of chicken soup
1 small can of tomato sauce
1 can of black beans
1 bag of tortilla chips
1 bag of cheese
1 can of black olives

*I have boiled chicken and used rotisserie and both were delicious!

- Preheat the oven to 350
- Cook the onions and the green pepper
- Mix the cooked onions and green pepper, cooked chicken, can of rotel, cream of chicken soup, tomato sauce, and black beans together.
- Then take a 9x11 baking dish and crush up about 1/3 of the bag of tortilla chips
- Add half of the mix on the chips
- Then sprinkle with cheese.
- Repeat (2 layers, unless you want more)
- Top with olives
- Bake for 30 minutes

My father in law said it reminded him of a taco salad, my husband said it reminded him of a frito pie.  It is really good and very filling and goes a long way!

Crazy Dream - Play Center

Last night I had french fries right before I went to bed so I guess I will blame that on my crazy dream. Because, you know, I can't have a crazy dream for no reason.

Anyway I was the owner of a really cool child play center.  This place was amazing.  It was huge and had every toy imaginable.  Kids came from all over the city just to play in my play center.  It was colorful and bright and fun and clean!  It was just awesome, the place everyone wanted to play.  In the center of the play center was this huge colorful slide that twisted and turned and looked like something from another world, but it was off limit to all the kids.  The kids were sad, they all wanted to go on the slide but they couldn't because there was a sign that said "no sliding allowed".  Anyone that got caught sliding had to leave the play center and there were no exceptions.  Unfortunately Pepper was at the play center with me all day because I had to be there so did she.  She wasn't allowed to go down the amazing super slide either but she wouldn't listen to me and I couldn't watch her all the time, and she was sneaky, and I had work to do to keep the place running.  I would catch her from time to time sliding and having a blast and I would make her stop but she always managed to slide when I wasn't looking.  Not only did she slide but she persuaded the other kids to slide too, she told them how fun it was and she laughed when she was going down.  She made it look like so much fun that the other kids could not resist. They always got caught and they had to leave the play center.  It wasn't fair.

Then I woke up.  Luckily it was just a dream, I would never open a play center with a slide kids couldn't slide on, and let my own daughter convince them to slide, sheesh, that would just be cruel!
