Changing Leaves

Kris mentioned the leaves were turning yellow already so we decided to take the girls and head into the mountains in hopes of getting a few fall pictures.  *disclaimer - I know that the worse time to take photos is during the day because of the horrible lighting* but we went anyway mostly to get out and enjoy the fresh clean morning air.  We learned a lot today, for example a jogging stroller is not a hiking stroller, and does not do well over rocks and we will never do that again.  We also discovered that Summer was all about having her picture taken, every tree was a new pose spot for her.

Pepper really enjoyed the hike, she had a bit of a runny nose and the poor thing was squinting like crazy in the sun.  At one point she had tears running down her face from the sun, she is just like her mom without sunglasses, but overall she enjoyed everything about our morning adventure.

We brought the tripod and thought it would be fun to take some timer pictures.  Kris set the timer for 10 seconds and we had the camera take 3 pictures - it was so much fun running after setting it each time.  Kris started out and I ended up taking some and running, and of course Summer joined in because she thought running to the spot each time was fun.

We gave Summer the camera for the first time ever and she took a pretty decent photo of me and my love of 12+ years :o)  We are such a happy couple, we hardly ever argue and when we do it is never very bad, it is usually over money and how much we should or should not spend.  We agree about most everything and I swear we can read each other's minds.  We make such a great team!

On the short walk back to the car Pepper was on Kris's shoulders.  She really enjoyed it and kept laying her head on his head.  It was super sweet.  She had such a good time.  We might brave doing it again one day, but we will purchase some sort of hiking back pack for Pepper first!
